Is This Possible?

Imagine what Hillary can do with a team of these guys. I know my doctor definitely can't start fires with his bare hands.

Hillary as a Man and Obama as a Caucasian

I was really torn when I went to vote today.

I was having a hard time NOT thinking about Obama playing the race card and Hillary the gender card.

So I imagined Obama as a white guy and Hillary as a white man (this one wasn't that hard). It didn't do jack to my decision making process but it was funny.

As for McClain, I'm gong democrat for now at least. I thought Bush could use the 2nd term to clean up the Iraq mess he started but I don't see much progress. The only reason I'd vote for him would be that he's probably the most qualified to clean up the mess after Bush.

Robots Take Over NYC!

Holy crap! They are everywhere.

Just look at the picture I snapped in Penn Station on Monday. If you look very carefully, you can see that this ingenious robot has disguised itself as a typical street entertainer. It even played the keyboard well enough to fool most people to give it money. No doubt it'll go towards funding its overlords. At least we know our future masters believe in equal opportunity.

My Mini GPS Review (coming soon...)

I've been in the market for a portable GPS navigator and will be posting my results. I don't have much to compare it to other than the built-in GPS in my wife's 2004 Acura MDX. I find it very intuitive and easy to use as well as accurate. I also used the MapQuest mobile application on my Blackberry 8800 which provides maps from Tele-Atlas and turn-by-turn navigation. It was free and I found it useful. But slow to track a satellite and Blackberry screen was too small to use as a navigation device.

I'll be testing the following 3 devices:

  1. TomTom Go 720
  2. Magellen Maestro 4250
  3. Garmin NĂ¼vi 350/360 or 650/660 (undecided)

Other than basic navigation features, I'm going to rate on the following:
  1. Design
  2. User Interface
  3. Ease of Use
  4. POI database
  5. Configurability
  6. Accuracy
  7. Value

As manufacturers try to justify their new models, they seem going a bit out of control creating a converged device. I think there are some useless features on some GPS devices that I didn't really take into consideration:
  • Bluetooth: Not sure why one wants to use their GPS devices as a speakerphone. Plus there's a lot of limitation on which handset they can connect even if your handset had bluetooth.
  • MP3 player: I've got one of these already. It's called an iPod.
  • Media capability: Not sure I'd want to watch my picturs and videos on my GPS device.
  • Traffic: I think this should be free. Too expensive after the trial period is over. Plus I don't think real time traffic is that reliable yet.
